We are searching for a passionate interior designer who is creative, thinks outside the box, and has the vision to see a finished project. We expect a designer with Anne Rogers Interiors to be in touch with design trends and research and have the instinctive ability to create a space that is both beautiful and functional. Additionally, we expect this designer to have expertise in digital design and rendering software including SketchUp, AutoCAD, Photoshop, etc. The ideal candidate will have a base knowledge of residential interior design and enthusiasm to learn and grow within the field.
As a junior designer with Anne Rogers Interiors, you will be required to support the Senior/Lead Designer as they confidently guide homeowners through every step of high-end residential projects from initial planning phases through construction and final completion. You will be expected to collaborate on design decisions and digitally represent those designs, create presentations and schedules, and communicate to clients or contractors as needed. You will need to be a creative individual who can efficiently manage your own schedule while multitasking between design, technical, and administrative tasks on various residential design projects.
Job Responsibilities:
Participate in design strategy sessions and collaborate with the design team on research, concept, and presentation development
Attend, actively participate, take notes, and create needed documentation from client meetings, contractor meetings, and visits to job sites
Research best practice materials and new design trends/concepts
Gather samples and specify finish materials
Acquire and deliver samples, fabric, hardware, fixtures, etc as needed
Work with support staff to quote, quantify, and order materials
Create detailed architectural drawings, elevations, and renderings using design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, etc.), focusing on all aspects of exterior and interior elements such as facades, roofing, landscaping, outdoor living spaces, and interior detailing
Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design revisions, and client communications
Efficiently manage multiple projects at once, maintaining high-quality standards and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Initiate and manage relationships with clients and partners
Attend industry and organizational events
Support office staff with paperwork and office organization as needed
Participate in team projects and business growth initiatives
Qualifications and Requirements:
Proven working experience in the residential design industry including consultations and space planning
Strong knowledge and skill in product selection and design conception
Strong understanding of residential architecture styles, exterior design principles, construction methods, and wood framing techniques.
Expertise in design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, etc.)
Portfolio of design work
Resourceful and have strong retention and recall abilities
Organizational and prioritizing skills with ability to adapt to frequently changing priorities
Basic technological skills including MS Office proficiency
Reliable transportation for self and needed materials throughout the central Ohio area
Knowledge of furniture manufacturing industry and/or purchasing experience is preferred
Education in design or related field is preferred
